Hello, it's me again !
Hello there, young reader, this is Radioactive Cat, or Belle, for those who know me well. I’m the band’s mascot, but also the main inspiration for their last song, guess the name! Let me introduce you to this incredible band called “91 Dominos”.
To put it simply, they capture the essence of Punk Rock and Grunge, emerging from Montreal’s rising music scene. They call their sound ‘‘Rage Rock’’. As you might expect, “91 Dominos” is music for the angry and discontented, like me when I don’t get my kibble. With a mix of melodic chords and frenetic riffs, the band creates a powerful portrayal of the harsh realities of our time.
The project began in 2021 with Dom and T-Nos. Instead of taking care of my fur during lockdown, they made a lot of noise. I listened from my basket, and it hurt my ears. From what I gathered, “91 Dominos” boldly challenges the trends of the modern rock scene, choosing a raw, authentic sound grounded in rebellion. Real punks, apparently!
They managed to release a demo/EP with their first songs. Even though the quality didn’t exactly make my whiskers twitch, they caught attention with those 7 tracks, distributed by the Swiss label Paroisse Records.
A year later, they recruited Double D, a somewhat weird bassist who spends his time jumping around. That gave the band new energy, propelling their sound (not him) into a cosmic dimension.
Since the little guy joined, they haven’t stopped composing and playing, keeping things dynamic. As soon as their debut album was completed, 91 Dominos welcomed Oatzy, a talented lead guitarist who brought a fresh energy and dynamic presence to the band’s live performances. The band continues to drop new singles, building momentum and setting their sights on the Canadian market. Well, yeah, keeping a cat is expensive!
In the meantime, the band continues to grow and expand their fanbase through wild live performances in Montreal and beyond, delivering their message with unmatched passion at every show. I hear they’re planning to perform in your town soon, will you be there?
Belle, Radioactive Cat for 91 Dominos.
Dom
Antoine (AKA Dom) was born and raised in Paris, France, the city of love and strikes. Dom has always had a passion for singing. Even as a kid, he was already driving his family crazy, imagining himself performing on the world’s biggest stages. He taught himself guitar around 2007, mainly to satisfy his urge to write songs and play the music of his idols, whether it was "The Beatles", "Nirvana", "Led Zeppelin", or "Linkin Park". His music career kicked off in 2010 when he started playing guitar with young Parisian bands like "Little Silly Devil". While he never considered himself a singer, you could feel the fire behind his music. Brave little guy.
In 2014, he auditioned for the band "Golden Garbage" in Marseille and officially became their lead singer and rhythm guitarist. For the next four years, he crafted his voice, played to larger audiences, and evolved with the band, releasing a 7-track EP titled "Absurde Réalité". (Not that this is about me, but still, it’s worth noting.)
After the band split in 2018, he kept writing songs and making music videos under the name "Dom et Kazu". And instead of buying me toys, in 2019 he formed the band "French Alors" in Montreal with "Golden Garbage" former guitarist. They explored the Montreal music scene, and Dom wrote a lot of new music over the next three years. An album and a few singles came out, but the young band lacked showbiz experience.
Meanwhile, Dom teamed up with T-Nos, the former drummer of "Golden Garbage", and the "91 Dominos" project was born. In 2022, after "French Alors" disbanded, Dom fully committed himself to "91 Dominos".
And to me, of course.
Double D
Kevin (AKA D.D., Double D, Double Deez Nuts, El Grozen) comes from Joliette, Quebec. From what I’ve gathered, Double Deez Nuts picked up a bass for the first time at the age of 14, and it changed his life. This wild four-string player draws his musical influences from a diverse range of bands, including “Deep Purple”, “Led Zeppelin”, “Metallica”, “Megadeth”, “Pantera”, “Blink 182”, “Strung Out”, “Fall Out Boy”, “Bad Religion”, “Les Colocs”, and “Mononc Serge”. Quite the lineup !
With his bass in one hand and a suitcase full of bad decisions in the other, Double D dropped out of school to enroll in a music program, determined to develop his skills. There, he was guided by seasoned pros like Serge Locat (“Harmonium”) and Alain Lapointe (“Les B.B”), among others. Pretty classy, right ?
In 2009, El Grozen went on tour across Quebec as the opening act for the popular band “Les B.B”. It was an unforgettable experience, performing on some of the province’s biggest stages, and it cemented his love for live shows (and jumping around while doing it).
A decade passed, during which he played here and there without much to show for it. Eventually, he gave up music and went down a different path.
After taking a year off from music, he saw an ad for a “bassist wanted” by the band “French Alors”, a quirky, food-themed French group. Seeing himself as a bit of a “strange vegetable,” he jumped at the chance to join. (I told you he’s a good one.)
When “French Alors” split, Double D finally found his place with Dom and T-Nos in “91 Dominos”. At every show, Double D channels raw energy, delivering an “in-your-face” performance that either captivates or unsettles the audience—but never leaves anyone indifferent.
And yes, he’s always jumping around on stage !
T-Nos
Sébastien (AKA T-Nos) comes from Salon-de-Provence in the south of France and is a big fan of hard rock and metal. His father, SNUT, used to play rock classics on guitar every night (bands like “Deep Purple”, “Led Zeppelin”, and “AC/DC”). T-Nos always had a natural feel for rhythm, and in 2010, he discovered the joy of playing music himself.
In 2013, he joined his first band, “Hangovers”, in Marseille as their drummer. His drumming idol is Mike Portnoy, especiallyfor his work with “Dream Theater”, but he’s also deeply inspired by legendary drummers like The Rev (“Avenged Sevenfold”), Neil Peart (“Rush”), and Phil Collins (“Genesis”). He’s a great guy, trust me, he even pets me sometimes !
That same year, T-Nos founded “Golden Garbage”, a name as creative as his sense of humor. Yeah, he’s definitely a comedian! He met Dom the following year, not realizing they were about to embark on a long musical journey together. When “Golden Garbage” ended in early 2018, T-Nos moved on to the band “Wait For It”, staying with them until 2019. Over the next two years, he worked on various projects with former bandmates, including some of Dom’s music. He’s always around, that one ! Afterward, he teamed up with the bassist from “Golden Garbage” and formed a punk band in Lyon, with constantly changing names like “Enculus Reparo”, “Sweet Onions”, and other quirky variations. Though short-lived, this duo experience enriched him for future projects.
In 2021, T-Nos finally moved to Montreal, where he joined the second version of “French Alors” and simultaneously launched the “Dominos project”, which quickly became “91 Dominos”. (And no, it’s not related to the pizza chain—though that would be a tasty mix-up !)
When “French Alors” split in 2022, T-Nos dove headfirst into “91 Dominos” alongside Dom. Thanks to their long- standing chemistry, they quickly released a 7-track demo, which helped them start booking shows in the area. Shortly after, Double D joined the band, much to T-Nos’s delight, and he expanded his drumming style with even more powerful fills and wild drum rolls.
We love it when the whiskers vibrate !
Oatzy
Michael (aka Oatzy), hailing from Newcastle — the sunny North of England — has been playing guitar since the age of 12 and has always been a passionate listener of everything rock. Coming from a family of musicians, his love for music runs deep; it’s something he’s always known was his true calling. Those Brits really do know their stuff!
Introduced to rock at an early age through the classics, Oatzy developed an eclectic taste, drawing inspiration from bands like «Pink Floyd», «Oasis», «Porcupine Tree», «Swans», «Korn», «Machine Head», «Deftones», and «Nine Inch Nails». There’s something in there for everyone!
Early on, Oatzy realized that playing guitar the conventional way just wouldn’t cut it. Through experimentation with sounds and textures, he began to craft new techniques that added vibrant colors to his musical canvas. Living in black and white is fine for a while, but then again, that is the band’s color scheme!
Having been involved in numerous projects and performed across both England and Quebec, Oatzy knew exactly what kind of band he was looking for. So when 91 Dominos started searching for a high-energy lead guitarist, he knew immediately what he had to do. It was almost biblical!
Between fiery solos, thunderous riffs, and explosive stage moves, one thing’s clear: his only mission is to spark a mosh pit bigger than the stage itself. Want to see if he pulls it off?
Catch them at the next show!
